As a professor of piano at the University of Moncton and an award winning pianists, Robert Lord is both a scholar and a musician. The Canadian-born pianist has performed his wide and varied repertoire to audiences that have included both State leaders and royalty. His natural talent allows him to glide effortlessly from the works of Chopin and Debussy into jazzier pieces by George Gershwin and Duke Ellington. More recently, he has been acquainting himself with music from Asia.
Mr. Lord is very busy this year with the release a CD recording and worldwide concert series of Classic Chinese Folk Music. He has been in the forefront of addressing the growing popularity of Chinese folk music and his interpretations of Chinese pieces are praised by the experts. Chinese and Canadians alike can be proud of his music, which exemplifies the bridging of Chinese and Western cultures. |
