一曲色诱江山的千古绝唱，魂断在柴可夫斯基的悲怆中。交响经典、高雅芭蕾与吴越之争的悄然相会，跨国界、跃时代，另类地谱写一段史诗。跳脱传统叙述之窠臼，战争与情感相交织。《西施》将历史与传说进行提炼改编，以恢弘的历史为背景，展现跌宕起伏的人物命运。氤氲江南、篱下屈辱、吴宫夜宴、宫心计、浣纱女，环环相扣。避开复杂的历史、家国关系，转而从西施与勾践、夫差、范蠡三位历史人物生动的故事出发，立足情感，挖掘人性的本质。在梦幻的舞台上、在诗意的舞姿里、在跌宕的剧情中“复活”这位千古传奇女子，演绎一出纱与剑、血与火、爱与仇的旷世绝唱。

舞团介绍：

苏州芭蕾舞团

苏州芭蕾舞团是新时代集团旗下的全资子公司，是中国第七个成立、也是江苏省唯一的专业芭蕾舞团。舞团成立于2007年6月，演员均来自北京舞蹈学院、上海戏剧学院以及国内各大芭蕾舞团。苏芭创作的舞剧曾多次入选国家艺术基金、江苏艺术基金等资助项目, 并多次受国家文化和旅游部委派开展国际文化交流活动，演出足迹遍布全球十多个国家和地区。现任团长王全兴，副团长/艺术总监李莹，艺术总监潘家斌。

赵汝蘅

艺术顾问

国家大剧院舞蹈艺术总监，中国国家芭蕾舞团原团长兼艺术指导，中国舞蹈家协会荣誉主席，国家大剧院舞蹈艺术总监。中国共产党第十六次全国代表大会代表，第十届、十一届全国政协委员。1961年，以优异的成绩毕业于北京舞蹈学院，之后加入中国国家芭蕾舞团。曾主演《天鹅湖》《仙女们》《吉赛尔》及《红色娘子军》等大型舞剧。1972年因脚伤不得不脱下舞鞋。此后，她曾到北京第二外国语学院进修，之后集中精力投入教学、排练、艺术研究及对外交流工作。1993年被中国文化部任命为副团长，翌年任命为团长。

李莹

副团长/艺术总监/编舞

李莹毕业于北京舞蹈学院并被选入中央芭蕾舞团任主要演员。1985年美国纽约第十三届瑞士洛桑国际青少年芭蕾舞大赛中获得约翰逊基金奖第一名，成为中国芭蕾史上首个在国际比赛中夺冠的芭蕾舞演员；1992年应邀赴美国哥伦布市大都会芭蕾舞团工作。自1994年至2006年，担任美国匹兹堡芭蕾舞剧院女首席主要演员。她的代表作包括美国匹兹堡芭蕾舞剧院《弦之幻》等。

2006年告别舞台后，李莹回到了家乡苏州，协助苏州文化艺术中心组建了苏州芭蕾舞团。全身心的开始了她的芭蕾创编工作。她致力于将芭蕾舞艺术推陈出新，力求在完美体现芭蕾舞艺术的同时，融合多种艺术风格，并不断地在中国芭蕾的创编领域寻求新的突破。舞团成立至今，已先后创编了《罗密欧与朱丽叶》《人偶情缘》《西施》《胡桃夹子》《卡门》《灰姑娘》《唐寅》《天鹅湖》等八部大型舞剧。

作为目前中国芭蕾舞界的编导，她的每一次创作都受到业内的极大关注。李莹受文化部指派担任文华艺术院校奖—第十届“桃李杯”舞蹈比赛评委会委员。《西施》《唐寅》先后荣获国家艺术基金、江苏艺术基金等资助。在她的带领下，苏州芭蕾舞团正在不断的创新中走出一条属于自己的发展之路。

潘家斌

艺术总监/编舞

北京舞蹈学院芭蕾舞系毕业，曾在第十二届保加利亚瓦尔纳国际芭蕾舞比赛中获奖，就职于哥伦布大都会芭蕾舞团、中央芭蕾舞团和匹兹堡芭蕾舞剧院担任主演。在二十年的舞台生涯中，剧目覆盖了古典，现代和当代等众多不同风格的作品。2000年被匹兹堡杂志授予优秀艺术家称号，并受邀参加Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood的拍摄，在美国PBS频道播出。2007年回到苏州参加舞团的建立，2008年底接任艺术总监，与舞团的演员、同事和夫人李莹经过了十几年的磨合和探索，创排了《罗密欧与朱丽叶》《西施》《胡桃夹子》《卡门》《唐寅》《天鹅湖》等八部舞剧和《一块红布》《柴可夫斯基的吉赛尔》《肖邦的诗》《一呼一吸》作品等。多次获得国家艺术基金和省市艺术基金的资助，两次受邀参加波兰比得哥什艺术节，和舞团外巡十几个国家和地区，为今天苏州芭蕾舞团作品的风格奠定了基础。

Suzhou Ballet Theatre

Suzhou Ballet Theatre, a wholly-owned subsidiary of New Era Group, is the seventh professional ballet company in China and the only one in Jiangsu province. The company was established in June 2007. Members come from Beijing Dance Academy, Shanghai Drama Academy and major ballet companies in China. Several ballet works created by Suzhou Ballet Theatre have been selected into the projects funded by China National Arts Fund and Jiangsu Arts Fund for many times, and have been assigned by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China to conduct international cultural exchange activities. Currently, Quanxing Wang serves as the General Manager, Ying Li serves as the Deputy General Manager / Artistic Director and Jiabin Pan serves as the Artistic Director.

Ruheng Zhao

Artistic Consultant

Dance Artistic Director of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, former head and Artistic Director of the National Ballet of China, and honorary chairman of the Chinese Dancers Association. Representative of the Sixteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, member of the 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. She graduated with honors from Beijing Dance Academy in 1961 and then joined the National Ballet of China. She has starred in major dance dramas such as Swan Lake, Fairies, Giselle and Red Detachment of Women. In 1972, she had to leave the stage because of a foot injury. Later, she further studied at Beijing International Studies University, and then concentrated on teaching, rehearsal, art research and international communication. In 1993, she was appointed deputy head of the National Ballet of China by the Ministry of Culture, and the head in the following year.

Ying Li

Deputy General Manager/Artistic Director/Choreographer

Graduated from Beijing Dance Academy and joined the National Ballet of China as principal dancer. In 1985, she won the first prize of Johnson Foundation Award in the 13th Lausanne International Youth Ballet Competition in New York, USA, and became the first Chinese ballet dancer to win the gold medal in an international ballet competition. In 1992, she was recruited to join Ballet Met in Columbus, before dancing with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre as a prima ballerina for twelve years until retiring from the stage in 2006.

In 2007, Ying Li returned to Suzhou to participate in the establishment of Suzhou Ballet Theatre and pursue her passion of choreography. She is committed to integrating a variety of artistic styles with ballet, and constantly seeking new breakthroughs in choreography of Chinese ballet. She choreographed eight full length Ballet for the company, including Romeo and Juliet, Coppelia, Legend of Beauty, The Nutcracker, Carmen, Cinderella, Tang Yin and Swan Lake, which have received extensive recognition. Legend of Beauty and Tang Yin received National Arts Fund and Jiangsu Arts Fund.

Under her leadership, Suzhou Ballet Theatre is in constant innovation in creating legacy and making ballet history in China.

Jiabin Pan

Artistic Director/Choreographer

Graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy. He won the prize in the 12th Varna International Ballet Competition in Bulgaria. Danced with Columbus Ballet Met, Central Ballet of China and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. His repertoire covers many works of different styles, such as classical, modern and contemporary in 20 years of stage career. In 2000, he was awarded the title of outstanding artist by Pittsburgh magazine, and was invited to take part in the shooting of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, which was broadcast on PBS channel in the United States. In 2007, he returned to Suzhou to participate in the establishment of the dance company, which is now Suzhou Ballet Theatre. In the end of 2008, he took over the position of Artistic Director. After more than ten years of exploration with dancers, colleague and wife Li Ying, he choreographed eight full length Ballet, such as Romeo and Juliet, Legend of Beauty, The Nutcracker, Carmen, Tang Yin, Swan Lake, A Piece of Red Cloth, Tchaikovsky’s Giselle, Chopin’s Poems, and the Distance of Breath. He has won the support of National Arts Fund and provincial and municipal Arts funds for many times. Along with the company, he has been invited to participate in the Bydgoszcz Arts Festival in Poland for twice and toured more than ten countries and regions. He has laid a foundation for the style of Suzhou Ballet Theatre.
